I get that question fairly often.
The answer is that I honestly don't know. That is, I know why
I write what I see. I do not know why I see what I see.
The more detailed background on Delta is elsewhere on this website.
But, in general, ideas for stories come from all manner of places and circumstances. I do not know their origin.
But I am grateful for their arrival.
Sometimes I just do things and try to figure out the reasons for my
actions later - not always the smart play. But several years ago I made the conscious choice to share with the
world the voices, people and images that come to me in my mind's eye. The result of that decision is The Delta Project -
and countless essays and short stories that have yet to see the light of day (but they will).
As long as the stories continue to play out in my mind, I will write
them down and share them with you. I hope you enjoy the results of what is for me a profoundly mystical experience.
